I++ is a netlabel from Paris, France, created in 2001 by an organisation of musicians & sonic artists who offers their music in free listening, downloading et sharing under a creative commons license.

Our electro/abstract/experimental products are at first pushed by a deep anger, the anger of the cultural misery of our troubled epoch. There is even not question about the foolish production of the majors, but about the hyper-segmentation of the cultural sector of Spectacle, where the creative needs of consumers are exploited to make more money again (by example, mass-music programs like garage band, or important sharing websites).
So, there is now a big flow of music, based on boring and well-known loops, shared in mass, and ready to kill in the egg the fragile start of free music by the expression of this misery itself.

Our approach is radicaly different, it wants to be progressive and complex. Our music is not for every ears, but without wondering about stupid questions like the coldness of numeric systems, what is important for us is to feel the human behind the machine. It's why we essentialy work in live, about theme & variations, differences & repetitions, seeking for all the possibilities offered to us.

Anonymous & serious, we hope to contribute, even a little, to the free music sphere, free again of both hypercapitalist jail and symbolic misery.
